Itinerary March 2nd-4th, 2018
Arrival to the lodge between 6-7pm. The Folk Tree Lodge is located about 30 minutes outside of Calgary in the Rocky Mountain Foothills. If flying, we recommend flying into the Calgary airport and renting a car, as the lodge is not located on a public transit route.
Once arrived, you will settle into your room, meet your roommates and pin on your custom made name tag. The early evening is yours to enjoy, mingling with the other women and learning more about one another.
Introductions will be made around 7pm and we will chat about what our adventure looks like. Dinner will be served. The night will cap off with great conversations, laughs and a good night’s sleep.
Breakfast is continental style where a variety of cereals, oatmeal, bagels and toast are offered.
After breakfast you will pack your own bagged lunch and we will head out for the day. The first stop is dog sledding. Here we will learn the basics of hooking up the dogs, the commands and how to steer! Then we will hop onto our sleds and have a 2 hr adventure.
After dog sledding we will head to the distillery and have a tour and tasting.
Dinner will be served back at the lodge. After dinner it’s time to relax, rejuvenate, stare at the stars and relax in front of the fire.
Breakfast will be a repeat of yesterday with plenty of coffee to go around (or tea if you prefer). Check out is at 10am and we ask that all belongings are taken out of the lodge.
A short hike in the morning will get your muscles moving and we will keep our eyes peeled for the many varieties of wildlife that call this place home.
After the hike we will all head over as a group to the brand new Kananaskis Nordic Spa where we will spend a couple hours soaking our muscles and enjoying a true Nordic experience.
The rest of the day is yours to explore. We hope by now you have made some lifelong friendships and will continue your explorations together.
