Embark on a magical journey with our exclusive women's only trip to explore the enchanting Christmas Markets in Germany's picturesque cities of Munich, Stuttgart, and Nuremberg. Over the course of 8 days, we will get to know Munich like a local, learn about the history of Nuremberg, visit Old Town Stuttgart, wander through the fairytale castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof, and spend the evenings wandering the exquisite Christmas markets in each city! You’ll experience the festive spirit as you wander through the cobblestone streets adorned with twinkling lights, savoring the aroma of mulled wine and seasonal treats. Join us for this unique and unforgettable experience, where laughter, friendship, and the joy of the holiday season come together in a perfect blend making this journey a true gift to yourself!

Day 1:

munich Welcomes you!

Willkommen, fellow adventurers…Welcome to Germany!

Today is our arrival day. Arrive in Munich by 4:00 PM and let the festivities begin! Our charming home for the first two nights is the Bavarian gem, Hotel Concorde, nestled in the heart of Munich’s Old Town. Get to know your fellow explorers over a Welcome Dinner at Servus Heidi, a top-rated German restaurant. Afterward, enjoy the rest of your evening wandering through charming Old Town before a cozy night’s sleep in our cozy Bavarian haven.

Day 2:

Rise and shine! Awake refreshed and enjoy a complimentary breakfast at our hotel making sure to fuel up for an exciting day as we spend our first full day together exploring Munich!

Today’s adventure is all about this incredible city and of course relishing in the holiday season! Our morning begins exploring the city on a guided tour where we will get a local’s insight into Munich’s history, culture and experience some holiday fun. After we will enjoy lunch together before we begin our tour of Munich’s Christmas Markets.

Did you know that Munich has over 20 Christmas markets? On the tour, our guide will bring us through Munich's Old Town to explore the city's festive offerings, including Christkindlmarkt in Marienplatz, and we will head to Residanz for a beautiful hidden market before a stop at Munich’s most unique market, Odeonsplat.

After our guided tour, we will have the rest of the evening to shop and explore the Marienplatz Christmas Market or another one of your choice. Enjoy a traditional dinner at your own pace and a warm drink to celebrate the season.

Day 3:

Nuremberg unveiled!

Guten Morgen!! Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before we pack up, check out and make our way to the train station for a direct, one hour train ride to Nuremberg.

After we arrive and check into our hotel, it’s time to stretch our legs as we head out on a captivating city walking tour, unraveling the city's rich history. Learn about the history of the city, from the days of the Holy Roman Empire to the German Renaissance, Third Reich, Nazi rallies and Nuremberg trials. We’ll visit the Imperial Castle courtyards, the Old Town Hall, the bustling Craftsmen’s Courtyard and much more.

After a short lunch break in the Marketplace, the tour continues to the site of the Nuremberg Rallies, including some of the largest Third Reich remains in the world. After a full day of learning about our new home base, we’ll return to our hotel to for some time to rest. Tonight you will be free to explore the Nuremberg Christmas Market and enjoy dinner on your own.

Day 4:

Nuremberg's Historical Tapestry!

Rise and shine! After a restful night, wake up to and enjoy the hotel’s breakfast before heading out for a day of exploring Nuremberg.

In the morning we will be exploring the Kaiserburg in Nuremberg, their Imperial Castle. The castle, together with the city walls, is considered to be one of Europe's most formidable medieval fortifications. Lunch will be a traditional German experience sitting at wooden tables and chairs being served regional delicacies in cheerful coziness.

In the afternoon we will make a stop at the Albrecht Durer House, Germany’s most famous artist, and our day of history will end with a self-guided walking tour of Altstadt/Old Town and St Lorenz Church.

Dinner will be on your own as you enjoy free time to look for that perfect gift or souvenir at the Christmas Market.

Day 5:

Stuttgart's Festive Charm!

Wake up and enjoy a nourishing breakfast before we check out of our hotel and board our two hour train to Stuttgat, Germany.

When we arrive, we’ll enjoy a hearty lunch at Onkel Otto before checking into our hotel in Stuttgart’s City Center. Take a little time to relax before we head out to explore the city.

We will stop at the famous Brezelkorble Pretzel Stand for a German tradition our way to see the Fernsehturm Tower, the fourth tallest free-standing structure in Europe.

After visiting the tower, we will return to the city center where you will be able to enjoy dinner on your own while you explore the Stuttgart Christmas Market.

Day 6:

Stuttgart's Splendors Continue

Relish a leisurely morning with a delightful hotel breakfast and warm cup of coffee.

In the morning we will head out to explore Old Town and Stuttgart’s city center. We will enjoy having lunch together as a group before heading to the Ludenungsburg Residential Palace, one of the largest Baroque palaces in Germany. We’ll take part in a guided tour of the residence, as well as the ceramic and fashion museum.

Our day concludes with the mesmerizing Glanzlichter Stuttgart Light Sculptures, followed by dinner at your leisure.

Day 7:

Munich Reunion!

After a filling breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and board our direct train to Munich. Once we arrive, we’ll enjoy lunch at Steinheil 16, a culinary gem in the heart of Munich’s Maxvorstadt which is famous for its schnitzel creations. We’ll then check into our hotel to drop off our luggage.

Next we’ll take a tour of the Nymphenburg Palace, which was a summer residence for the Electors and Kings of Bavaria in the 18th century. End your day with dinner on your own and a walk through the Marienplatz Christmas Market or one of the 20 markets in Munich for any last minute gifts.

Day 8:

A truly Royal day!

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at the hotel before leaving for a full day excursion to visit the magical fairytale Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castles.

We’ll get the royal treatment on this two hour scenic ride accompanied by a local guide on a luxury coach bus with panoramic windows. Our destination is Neuschwanstein Castle. Here we will take a guided tour and have some free time to shop and enjoy lunch. Next we make our way to the village of Oberammergau where we will have time to explore the village. After we head to the Linderhof Palace for a guided tour before making our way back to Munich.

Once back in Munich, we will enjoy our Farewell Dinner at Risotto Restaurant Munich, sharing some of our favorite memories from the past week and our contact information to continue our new found friendships.

Day 9:

Farewell Germany!

Wake up for a final morning in Germany and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Shuttle to the airport, carrying a suitcase full of memories and a heart brimming with the joy of sisterhood. Safe travels home!

    If you are traveling solo, you will be assigned roommates upon request.

    • Personal expenses not included in the itinerary such as additional accommodations, transportation, souvenirs, etc.

  • All meals will be provided as noted in the itinerary. Please reach out to the trip host after booking if you have any food allergies/sensitivities. We always do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but cannot make any guarantees.

  • This trip requires a minimum number of ladies to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private WhatsApp group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided along with pre-travel support.

    *Please note that for our some trips there is a non-refundable fee once the trip reaches the confirmed status.

  • Women Who Explore guests will be required to follow the local Covid-19 guidelines and requirements as set forth by the local governing body of the destination being visited.

  • Travel (and medical) insurance is required for anyone traveling on a Women Who Explore adventure. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. Your insurance policy should also include specific Covid-19 cover, including cancellation and curtailment cover if you or a close relative are diagnosed with Covid-19.
