Baja Mexico - Mobula Ray Migration

May 2-8, 2026

islands, wildlife, culture

This adventure is rated 2 out of 5 difficulty level. Moderate level activities (i.e. short to medium hikes up to 5 miles, some elevation, intro to new skill/activity that is guided by 3rd party like mountain biking, climbing, rafting, etc.). Activities are included, but optional if outside of your comfort zone.

Picture yourself camping on the untouched island of Cerralvo off the Baja Peninsula, surrounded by turquoise waters and golden sand, during one of natureโ€™s most magical spectacles - the mobula ray migration. This trip is all about adventure and connection, as we set up camp right on the beach under a sky full of stars. Days are spent snorkeling alongside hundreds of graceful mobula rays, playful sea lions, and vibrant marine life, with the chance to spot whales gliding through the open ocean.

Beyond the water, youโ€™ll dive into the culture and flavors of Baja with a hands-on cooking class, savor fresh sunset dinners by the shore, sample mezcal while making tote bags and share stories while relaxing on the beach with an incredible group of women. From whale watching excursions to falling asleep to the sound of the waves, this is the perfect balance of wild adventure and simple island livingโ€”a rare chance to slow down, connect, and experience the ocean in its most spectacular season.

  • Our ocean safari takes place in open water and involves searching for marine wildlife in collaboration with local fishermen. While we do our best to maximize sightings through real-time communication and expert guidance, wildlife interactions are never guaranteed, as animals are free to roam and behave naturally.

All marine life interactions are conducted respectfully and responsibly, with a strict adherence to Mexican environmental laws and guidelines. Our approach is non-invasive and always based on the animalsโ€™ willingness to engage. Entering the water is optional, and those who prefer can remain on the boat to enjoy the experience and capture photos.

Please note: Swimming in open ocean conditions can be physically demanding and may not be suitable for everyone. Participation is at your own risk, and all guests must follow safety instructions from guides and crew at all times.

By joining this trip, you acknowledge the inherent risks of open-water activities and wildlife encounters.
