This adventure is rated 2 out of 5 difficulty level. This trip includes multiple city walking tours and full day adventures exploring European history and magical Christmas Markets. Moderate level of activity walking up to 5+ miles each day sometimes on uneven, cobblestone streets. Activities are included, but optional if outside of your comfort zone.

From the twinkling lights of Prague’s Old Town to the rich melodies of Vienna and the festive spirit of Budapest, this December journey is your ticket to laughter, new friendships, and holiday magic that feels straight out of a storybook. Pack your sense of adventure (and your coziest scarf) — the joy of the season is calling!


ITINERARY

    • Welcome to the Czech Republic! Arrive at the Václav Havel International Airport (PRG) in Prague. There will be up to 3 group transfers provided from the airport to the hotel.

    • Settle into your 4-star hotel located in Prague Old Town. Check in is after 2 p.m.

    • Welcome dinner at Folklore Garden. Enjoy a 4 course dinner with music, dance and foklore.

    • Meals: Dinner (Soft drinks, juices, beer and wine included).

    • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out on a half day guided tour visiting Prague Castle, Charles Square, St. George’s Basilica, and other sites.

    • Visit Prague’s Christmas Market on Wenceslas Square. Enjoy free time to have lunch and shop.

    • Tonight we will visit Old Town Square Christmas Market with free time to shop, sip mulled wine and savor delicious bites from the market stalls.

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • Savor a delicious breakfast at the hotel before checking out. Today we make our way to Salzburg, Austria!

    • Our total drive today is 5 hours and half way there we will stop to visit the village of Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about the magic of this place on a 2 hour guided city tour followed by free time to shop and have lunch.

    • Relax on the remaining 2.5 hour drive to Salzburg.

    • Check into the hotel and freshen up. Enjoy the rest of the night at your leisure.

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • Enjoy a leisurely breakfast but save some room. We will meet at 11 am where our day begins with a cooking class to learn how to make the perfect Apple Strudel and Salzburg Nockerl.

    • Next up it is time to learn about the city on a guided tour. We will visit the infamous Miracle Gardens from the Sound of Music, wander beautiful squares admiring history that includes Mozar't’s birthplace, Hohensalzburg Castle and Domquartier quarter, where Silent Night was penned.

    • Enjoy free time in the center of the city to enjoy lunch and shop.

    • Dinner is on your own this evening or you can choose to add-on the experience to enjoy 3 course dinner and a Mozart concert at the Hohensalzburg Castle with the best views of the city.

    • Grab breakfast before you pack your bags and check out. Today our adventure continues making our way towards Vienna.

    • On the drive, we will stop at the breathtaking village of Hallstatt nestled lakeside in the stunning Dachstein Mountains. The drive is 1.5 hours.

    • First we will visit the Skywalk which hovers 350 meters above the ground to take in the panoramic views over Lake Hallstatt. Next we will take a tour of the oldest Saltine in the world.

    • Enjoy a couple hours of free time to explore and have lunch in Hallstatt.

    • Mid afternoon meet back up with the group, hop in the car, and enjoy the scenery on the 4 hour drive to Vienna.

    • Arrive, check in and the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • Savor a delicous breakfast at the hotel before heading out on an morning city tour.

    • Today’s stops include Schoenbrunn Palace and Gardens, one of the most important architectural, cultural and historic monuments in Austria. Our guide will share stories and the history of the palace which spans over 300 years.

    • Next we continue on to visit other impressive buildings including the Vienna State Opera house, The Grand Homburg Palace, Parliament, City Hall and the acclaimed Burgtheater.

    • After our tour, we will sit down to enjoy lunch.

    • Next we make our way to the Christkindlmarkt, Vienna’s famous and beautiful market by city hall. Here you will have time to explore the stalls, enjoy snacks, and even strap on a pair of ice skates and enjoy the rink.

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today we will be packing up and checking out for a 3 hour drive our final destination, Budapest!

    • When we arrive, we’ll visit the Budapest Market Hall and then have some free time to explore Vaci Street, known for shopping, and have lunch.

    • Check into the hotel, and have an hour to relax.

    • This afternoon’s activity is all about relaxations. We are heading to Széchenyi Thermal Bath, Budapest’s most famous thermal spa. We’ll spend a few hours taking in the vibes, soaking and getting ultra relaxed before making our way back to the hotel.

    • Dinner is at your leisure this evening.

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • After a delicious breakfast, we head out to explore the city. On today’s tour, we will be visiting both sides of the Danube River including Heroes’ Square, Opera Basilica, Chain Bridge, Fisherman’s Bastion and more.

    • Enjoy free time to explore Budapest’s St. Basilica Market to enjoy a late lunch and free time to shop.

    • Our day finishes with a cruise down the Danube River with a celebratory drink and stunning views of the cityscape..

    • We’ll enjoy a group dinner together before heading back and tucking ourselves into bed.

    • Meals: Breakfast and dinner

    • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and get all your goodies packed up and ready for your journey home.

    • One private group transfer to the Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD).

  • All meals will be provided as noted in the itinerary. Please reach out to the trip host after booking if you have any food allergies/sensitivities. We always do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but cannot make any guarantees.

  • This trip requires a minimum number of women to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided along with pre-travel support. Please let us know if you do not have or use Facebook (see contact information below).

    All deposits are non-refundable at the time of booking, but may be transferable if done so within the timeframe outlined in the Terms of Service.

    Once a trip has been confirmed (no matter the booking or trip timeline), the deposit is both non-refundable and non-transferable. Please make sure you are purchasing adequate travel insurance at the time of booking to ensure you are covered in case you need to cancel.

  • Travel (and medical) insurance is required for anyone traveling on a Women Who Explore adventure. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. Your insurance policy should also include specific Covid-19 cover, including cancellation and curtailment cover if you or a close relative are diagnosed with Covid-19.
