We’re heading to Manuel Antonio, a stunning hilltop paradise where rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean. This region is one of the most biodiverse in the world—full of wildlife, lush jungle, and golden sunsets. This week-long adventure blends culture, nature, and soul.

Experience a sacred cacao ceremony rooted in indigenous tradition, visit the Boruca tribe and connect with their rich cultural heritage through a natural dye workshop, explore waterfalls, search for wildlife through the jungle, relax on sunset cruises and reconnect with yourself through a heart opening cacao ceremony.

ITINERARY

    • Welcome to Costa Rica! Arrive at the Juan Santamaría Airport (SJO) for a 1 p.m. pick up. There will be one group transfer provided from the airport to Manuel Antonio. Exact departure time will be provided upon trip confirmation.

    • Stop for snacks and cold drinks to enjoy on your 3+ hour scenic drive down the Pacific Coast.

    • Arrive to your Airbnb nestled in the jungle and settle in, take a dip in the pool, or try to spotting wildlife from the wrap around balcony.

    • Enjoy a 4-course welcome dinner prepared and served by a private chef.

    • Meals: Dinner

    • Wake up to the sounds or the jungle and enjoy a traditional Costa Rican breakfast and coffee.

    • Visit Manuel Antonio National Park on a guided tour with a trained bilingual wildlife expert. After enjoy free time at Playa Manuel Antonio, inside the national park.

    • Lunch at your leisure.

    • Free afternoon to enjoy as you wish. We recommend an afternoon at the beach inside the national park or on Playa Espadilla where you can surf, parasail, get a massage or grab some lounge chairs, play in the waves and soak up some Vitamin D.

    • Guided jungle night walk with a local expert searching for wildlife. Typical Costa Rican dinner provided after the tour.

    • Meals: Breakfast and dinner

    • Wake up to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy a delicious Costa Rican breakfast.

    • Today’s adventure brings you south along the Pan American Highway and up into the Talamanca mountains to the home of the Boruca tribe. Learn about their history and the cultural significance of their balsa wood masks.

    • Watch a live mask carving demonstration and paint your own hand-carved mask to take home with you.

    • Discover how the Boruca use plants to make natural dyes and create textiles and use traditional methods to dye your own tote bag.

    • Return to Manuel Antonio where the rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish. We suggest heading to the beach to catch a sunset.

    • Dinner is at your leisure.

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • Wake up to the sounds or the jungle and enjoy a traditional Costa Rican breakfast and coffee.

    • Today is a choose your own adventure day. Relax with a massage, grab a book and head to the beach, try a surfing lesson, or take a nap by the pool.

    • If you’re up for a thrilling adventure, add-on the 7 in 1 Adventure Course. This guided tour takes you through 7 different activities located in the middle of the jungle including a rappel down a 95 foot waterfall which is the highlight of the course. After completing the course, you’ll be rewarded with a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch.

    • The afternoon is free to enjoy as you wish. We recommend sunset from the beach or one of the many lovely restaurants boasting panoramic views. Dinner is at your leisure tonight.

    • Meals: Breakfast, lunch included with optional activity

    • Wake up to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy a typical Costa Rican breakfast.

    • Spend the morning as you wish - lounge on the beach with a book, relax with a massage or join the optional chocolate and coffee tour.

      • Optional: Chocolate & Coffee Tour - visit a local farm to learn about the cultural and biological background of cacao, coffee, and sugarcane.

    • Mid afternoon meet up with your trip host to head in to Quepos town to explore the local farmer’s market.

    • Tonight enjoy dinner at a local restaurant with the group.

    • Cacao Ceremony - finish the evening with a cultural ritual led by your host, Tita, that focuses on opening your heart, spiritual connection, and a deeper connection to oneself and the world.

    • Meals: Breakfast and dinner, lunch with optional activity.

    • Enjoy an early breakfast and the jungle views around you.

    • Enjoy a 1.5 hour drive down the Pan-American Highway before hopping into a 4×4 jeep for a short ride to Nauyaca waterfall. Here we will have a couple hours to swim, explore and relax.

    • Stop for lunch in Domincial along with some free time to walk along the beach or explore the artisan shops.

    • Return to Manuel Antonio where the rest of the afternoon and evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • Wake up and savor a delicious breakfast while you enjoy the sounds of the birds.

    • Enjoy free time this morning to take a walk on the beach, get an in house massage, shop or explore the nearby nature park.

    • Meet back at the house around 12:30 p.m. and together we will head to the marina for an afternoon cruising the coast, snorkeling, and a sunset dinner.

    • Meals: Breakfast, dinner

    • Wake up to the sounds or the jungle and enjoy a traditional Costa Rican breakfast and coffee before packing up and checking out.

    • One private group transfer back to the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) will be provided. Plan to arrive to the airport around 12 p.m.

  • $2,795 USD shared occupancy in a bedroom with 2-3 beds and a private bathroom.

    $3,395 USD single occupancy in a private master suite with a bathroom and balcony.

    If you are traveling solo, you will be assigned a roommate upon request. Rooms are assigned on a first come basis.

  • • 8 days/ 7 nights accommodations in a beautiful home located in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, surrounded by the jungle with a private pool. Your booking includes your own bed in a shared bedroom. Each bedroom has a private bathroom.

    • Welcome dinner with a private chef experience and all other meals as noted in itinerary (7 breakfasts, 1 lunches, 4 dinners).

    • Transportation to and from the San Jose international airport (SJO) on designated arrival and departure dates and time.

  • All meals will be provided as noted in the itinerary. Please reach out to the trip host after booking if you have any food allergies/sensitivities. We always do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but cannot make any guarantees.

  • This trip requires a minimum number of women to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided along with pre-travel support. Please let us know if you do not have or use Facebook (see contact information below).

    All deposits are non-refundable at the time of booking, but may be transferable if done so within the timeframe outlined in the Terms of Service.

    Once a trip has been confirmed (no matter the booking or trip timeline), the deposit is both non-refundable and non-transferable. Please make sure you are purchasing adequate travel insurance at the time of booking to ensure you are covered in case you need to cancel.

    Please note: some of our trips have a non-refundable fee that will be stated in the trip description. Please make sure to refer to the full Terms of Service to make sure you understand fully the Cancellation Policy of each trip.

  • Travel (and medical) insurance is required for anyone traveling on a Women Who Explore adventure. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. Your insurance policy should also include specific Covid-19 cover, including cancellation and curtailment cover if you or a close relative are diagnosed with Covid-19.
