This adventure is rated 2 out of 5 difficulty level. Activities are cultural in nature and any hiking activities will be rated as moderate. There are no add-ons that include any activity that is physical in nature. Walking tours are included and you should be comfortable being on your feet and managing uneven steps, sidewalks and streets.

On this 11 day adventure, you’ll explore the three cities known as the Golden Circle; New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. This area is known for featuring some of the country’s most spectacular sites and we will be visiting forts, palaces, temples and of course, the Taj Mahal.

We will visit Taj Mahal for sunrise, explore Asia’s largest spice market, wander through centuries old palaces, forts and temples, taste local dishes, explore the camel fair and more. We think India is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered and we can’t wait to share this amazing country with you!


ITINERARY

    • Welcome to India! Today you will arrive at the New Delhi International Airport (DEL). Three group transfers will be provided from the airport to the hotel. Check in begins at 2 p.m. Early arrival rooms are available.

    • Check into your 5-star hotel and enjoy the rest of the day however you like. Relax by the pool, book a spa appointment, or catch up on sleep.

    • Optional visit to the India Gate for a sunset photo session.

    • Henna and Saree fitting (optional add-on). Create your own saree with a local tailor who will provide fabric options and will take your measurements to create the perfect look for your visit to the Taj Mahal. A local artist will also be providing henna for those who’d like to participate.

    • Visit Old Delhi with an early morning traditional rickshaw ride wandering through its labyrinth of narrow lanes, traditional Havelis, and colorful bazaars.

    • Explore Asia’s oldest spice market and Jama Masjid Mosque.

    • Guided tour of the Ashkradam Temple and Qutub Minar

    • Group welcome dinner

    • Meals: Breakfast and dinner

    • Relax on a 4 hour scenic drive through the countryside

    • Arrive in Agra and have lunch and first glimpses of the Taj Mahal

    • Check in to accommodations, then head to the Red Fort for a walking tour to last through sunset

    • Evening marble demonstration with Taj Mahal artisans

    • Meals included: Breakfast and dinner

    • Early morning wakeup for sunrise at the Taj Mahal. We will spend a few hours walking around the grounds, learning about the history, and in the Taj Mahal with plenty of time to stop and take photos.

    • Breakfast and downtime at our accommodations—use this to edit photos or relax in the sun.

    • Visit Sheroes Hangout Cafe: a local women owned cafe in Agra ran by survivors of acid attacks

    • Sunset at Methab Gardens for a final view of the Taj Mahal

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • Enjoy a 4 hour drive through the countryside from Agra to Jaipur

    • Stop in Fatehpur Sikri, once the capital of the Mughal Empire, and learn the story of Akbar the Great.

    • Arrive in Jaipur and settle in to your accommodations for the next five nights—sunset and dinner will be on the rooftop.

    • Meals: Breakfast and dinner

    • Early wakeup for a drive to a magical sunrise. We’ll make a quick stop in town at an iconic photo spot on our way to Amer Fort.

    • Amer Fort walking tour at opening — ample opportunity for photography, stops built in to walking tour

    • Head to the Curry Spoon in Jaipur for lunch

    • Free time to visit the local tailor shop for a hand block demonstration or down time to relax at the hotel

    • Nahargarh Fort for sunset and dinner.

    • Meals: Breakfast and lunch

    • Early morning wakeup, head to train station for a day trip to Pushkar

    • Scenic train ride to Pushkar

    • We will be visiting Pushkar during the Camel Fair, one of the largest camel fairs in the world.

    • Stop at Pushkar Lake and walk around—Pushkar Lake is a sacred lake of the Hindus, the lake and the city of Pushkar hold high religious significance with pilgrims often visiting.

    • Drive back to Jaipur

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • After breakfast, head to the flower market for a photo walk

    • Today’s visits will include the City Palace, Jantar Mantra, and Royal Gaitor

    • Lunch will be at the iconic Tattoo Cafe in the heart of the Pink City

    • Sunset at Jaigarh Fort, overlooking Amer Fort & the city of Jaipur

    • Optional, but highly recommended street food tour

    • Meals: Breakfast

    • Breakfast on rooftop of hotel

    • Head to Samode Village for a day trip

    • Lunch and sunset at Samode Palace

    • Drive back to Jaipur

    • Enjoy breakfast on the rooftop of the hotel

    • Visits to Albert Hall and Patrika Gate, iconic photo spots in Jaipur

    • City street photography tour on tuktuks & rickshaws

    • Sunset at the monkey temple

    • Meals: Breakfast and dinner

    • Optional sunrise hot air balloon over Jaipur.

    • Enjoy breakfast on the rooftop and say goodbyes to your new lifelong friends.

    • Transfers to airport (JAI) or alternate transfers by car to DEL

    If you are traveling solo, you will be assigned a roommate upon request. Rooms are assigned on a first come basis.

  • All meals will be provided as noted in the itinerary. Please reach out to the trip host after booking if you have any food allergies/sensitivities. We always do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but cannot make any guarantees.

  • This trip requires a minimum number of women to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided along with pre-travel support. Please let us know if you do not have or use Facebook (see contact information below).

    All deposits are non-refundable at the time of booking, but may be transferable if done so within the timeframe outlined in the Terms of Service.

    Please make sure you are purchasing adequate travel insurance at the time of booking to ensure you are covered in case you need to cancel.

    Please note: some of our trips have a non-refundable fee that will be stated in the trip description. For this trip, once the trip is confirmed, the deposit is no longer transferrable. Please make sure to refer to the full Terms of Service to make sure you understand fully the Cancellation Policy of each trip.

  • Travel (and medical) insurance is required for anyone traveling on a Women Who Explore adventure. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. Your insurance policy should also include specific Covid-19 cover, including cancellation and curtailment cover if you or a close relative are diagnosed with Covid-19.
