This adventure is rated 1 out of 5 with the city walking tours from easy moderate to moderate in difficulty. You should be comfortable walking 3-5 miles per day which may include unpaved paths, uneven surfaces, cobblestone streets, stairs, hills, etc.. This trip may also include an intro to new skill/activity that is guided by 3rd party like dancing the night away at Dracula’s Castle, climbing, rafting, kayaking etc.). Activities are included, but optional if outside of your comfort zone

ROMANIA ITINERARY

- Welcome to Bucharest! There will be two airport transfers arranged to your hotel in Bucharest where you’ll stay for the next 2 nights.
- After you’re all settled in, we’ll kick things off with a festive welcome dinner at 7pm in a lively local restaurant where we’ll dine on local dishes, complete with traditional music, folk dances, and plenty of cheer.

- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before our adventure in the city begins. Today is all about exploring Bucharest!
- Our local guide will meet us at the hotel to take us on a city tour starting with a visit to impressive (and massive) Palace of Parliament. Built during the Communist times, this building holds the Guinness Book World Record for being the heaviest in the world. With over 23 chambers, 1,000+ rooms and its opulent interiors, this is a must visit place while in Bucharest.
- The next stop is the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum. Here we will wander through a an open air museum showcasing a traditional Romanian village and our guide will share stories about village life between the 17th and 20th centuries.
- We will stop to enjoy lunch at a local spot.
- Our last stop today is Old Town. After learning about the history of this area, you’ll have free time after to explore on your own. We recommend a visit to Cărturești Carusel, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world.
- Tonight enjoy Bucharest as you’d like; check out the Piata Unirii Fountain for a synchronized light show, sip local wine or beer at a pub, or dine at one of the city’s stylish restaurants.
- Meals included: Breakfast and lunch
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we check out. Today we leave for the legendary Transylvania!
- Along the way we’ll stop at Sinaia to tour the stunning Peleș Castle. Built in the late 1800s, it is a true fairytale castle and the first castle to be fully powered by local electricity.
- After the guided tour, we’ll stop to enjoy lunch and a sparkling wine tasting at the historic Azuga Royal Winery before making our way to medieval Sighișoara, the birth place of Dracula himself!
- We’ll check in at the hotel once we arrive and then the rest of the day is yours to explore this charming medieval town. We recommend a stroll up to the church on the hill to explore the unique cemetery here.
- Enjoy dinner at your leisure.

- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. We’ll check out before spending the morning exploring Sighișoara.
- Today we’ll take a walking tour of Sighișoara, the only inhabited medieval citadel in South Eastern Europe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birth place of Dracula. Our guide will show us around the citadel and then we’ll visit Dracula’s home having time to enjoy lunch.
- We’ll enjoy lunch and a some free time to explore the storybook streets or climb the ancient clock tower before a relaxing drive to our next destination.
- Afer a couple hourse, we’ll arrive in Sibiu where we will check into our hotel and have an evening free to explore the Old Town and enjoy dinner at your leisure
- Meals included: Breakfast and lunch
- We’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before we check out and head to Brasov.
- We’ll take a city walking tour to explore Old Town.
- Once we have checked into the hotel, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you’d like.
- We recommend dining in Piata Sfatului Square, and if you want a little adventure head to the top of Mount Tâmpa (by cable car or a moderate hike) for a view over the city and a photo next to the Brasov Hollywood sign. This city offers plenty to explore like its many hidden courtyards or you can enjoy time to relax at a local spa.

- After we enjoy breakfast, it is time to explore Brașov!
- Our day begins with a stroll through Old Town where more than 800 years of living history can be discovered. We’ll visit the Black Church, Europe’s narrowest street and we’ll hear stories and legends about the places and people that make up the history of this village, including Dracula himself!
- After the tour, enjoy lunch at your leisure followed by some free to explore this charming city on your own, relax and get ready for our big night out!
- Tonight is the main event and it’s going to be a night you won’t forget! After dinner, we will make our way to the legendary Bran Castle for a spine-tingling Halloween Party, also known as the Dracula Ball. This is the party of a lifetime, held in the Royal Garden. The party promises an electrifying atmosphere, with a DJ set, light shows and a bar. Don’t forget to bring your best costume!
- Return to Brașov for a well-earned rest. Two transfers will be provided back to our hotel between 12 - 3 am. The drive each way to the castle is 50 minutes.
- Meals included: Breakfast
- This morning take it slow, enjoy sleeping in and breakfast at your leisure. We’ve had a lot of fun on this trip and now it’s time for a little rest and relaxation before we leave tomorrow.
- After we check out, it’s time to make our way back to Bucharest. After a 2.5 to 3 hour drive, we the way we’ll stop at Therme Bucharest for an afternoon of mineral pools, saunas, water slides and a botanical garden. If you’d like to arrange a spa treatment, we recommend to do that ahead of time.
- In the late afternoon we’ll head to our hotel to check in and enjoy the evening at leisure.
- A final group dinner will be enjoyed to celebrate our adventure together!

- It’s been incredible and we will cherish all the memories from this grand adventure! Sadly, the time has come and it’s time to head home.

This trip requires a minimum number of women to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided along with pre-travel support. Please let us know if you do not have or use Facebook (see contact information below).

All deposits are non-refundable at the time of booking, but may be transferable if done so within the timeframe outlined in the Terms of Service.

Once a trip has been confirmed (no matter the booking or trip timeline), the deposit is both non-refundable and non-transferable. Please make sure you are purchasing adequate travel insurance at the time of booking to ensure you are covered in case you need to cancel.

Travel (and medical) insurance is required for anyone traveling on a Women Who Explore adventure. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. Your insurance policy should also include specific Covid-19 cover, including cancellation and curtailment cover if you or a close relative are diagnosed with Covid-19.
