This adventure is rated 1 out of 5 with the hikes ranging from moderate to challenging in difficulty. Weather is to be expected in Alaska which means sometimes the path or trail can be muddy or slippery. You should be comfortable hiking up to 10 miles with up to 3k feet of elevation gain/loss. This trip may also include an intro to new skill/activity that is guided by 3rd party like mountain biking, climbing, rafting, kayaking etc.). Activities are included, but optional if outside of your comfort zone

This group trip is perfect for women craving a travel experience that is equal parts enchanting, heartfelt and beautifully haunting.

ROMANIA ITINERARY

    • Welcome to Bucharest! We will have an airport transfer to our hotel in Bucharest for the next 2 nights.

    • After you’re settled in, we’ll kick things off with a festive welcome dinner in a lively local restaurant, complete with traditional music, folk dances, and plenty of cheer.

    • Meals included: Dinner

    • Breakfast at the hotel

    • Today, we will explore Bucharest on a guided city tour. We will take in the massive Palace of Parliament, the Village Museum and the city’s blend of old and new.

    • We will enjoy lunch at a local spot.

    • In the evening, you’ll have free time to wander, sip local wine or dine at one of the city’s stylish restaurants.

    • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch

    • After breakfast we will leave the capital for legendary Transylvania!

    • Along the way we’ll stop at Sinaia to tour the fairytale Peleș Castle.

    • After the tour, we’ll enjoy a sparkling wine tasting and lunch at the historic Azuga Royal Winery before continuing to medieval Brașov, filled with cobbled streets and Gothic charm.

    • Our begins with a walking tour of Brașov’s Old Town.

    • After, you will have some free time before our big night!

    • Tonight is the main event! We have tickets for the legendary Bran Castle for a spine-tingling Halloween Party, also known as the Dracula Ball. This is the party of a lifetime, held in the Royal Garden. The party promises an electrifying atmosphere, with a DJ set, light shows and a bar.

    • Return to Brașov for a well-earned rest.

    • Meals included: Breakfast

    • Today will be spent in Sighișoara, a UNESCO-listed medieval citadel. We will have plenty of time to wander its storybook streets, climb ancient towers and visit Vlad the Impaler’s birthplace.

    • Lunch is at a historic restaurant.

    • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch

    • Breakfast at the hotel

    • We will take a transfer back to Bucharest, approximately 4 hour drive.

    • Once we have checked into the hotel, the rest of the day is yours.

    • We’ve had a lot of fun on this trip and now it’s time for a little rest and relaxation before we leave tomorrow.

    • We will take a 45 minute transfer to Therme Bucharest for a day of mineral pools, sauna, water slides and a botanical garden. Treatments will need to be booked ahead of time.

    • It’s been incredible, but it’s time to go home!

    • An airport transfer will be arranged based on average times of flights.

  • $4,795 double occupancy, single occupancy is not available for this trip.

    If you are traveling solo, you will be assigned roommates upon request.

    A deposit is due at booking to hold your spot with regular monthly payments. Additional payments may be applied to the trip balance prior to payment due dates.

  • • 4 nights in the Chamonix Valley. Double occupancy rooms available. Hotel also has a heated swimming pool and onsite spa.

    • 5 nights stay in remote mountain huts and guesthouses, and 2 nights in village hotels during the trek. You will have your own bed in a shared room with other hikers during the trek. Blankets and pillows will be provided at each of the accommodations. Hotel rooms along the trail are double occupancy.

    • One group airport transfer from Geneva International Airport (GVA) to your hotel in Chamonix and back to Geneva International Airport (GVA)

    • Private, fully guided 8-day 65+ mile trek through the heart of the Alps where you will visit France, Switzerland and Italy and hike past pristine lakes, traditional farms and ancient churches as you circumnavigate the world’s 11th highest mountain, Mont Blanc. Please note this trek is not the entire 110 mile Tour du Mont Blanc Circuit.

    • Luggage transfer for the duration of the trek so you can enjoy the trail only carrying your essentials in your day pack while hiking

    • Local in country transportation and transfers during the trek

    • Time to explore the villages of Les Houches, Courmayeur and Chamonix

    • Welcome and farewell dinners, all breakfasts along with all meals while trekking; in total this includes 11 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 8 dinners

    • Trip checklists, detailed packing list, training guide, and pre-travel support provided in a private Facebook and/or WhatsApp group

    • Pre-trip Q&A Zoom call to meet your fellow travelers, trip host and ask any questions

    • Trekking poles (available to rent), backpack (35-40L suggested), sleeping bag liner (mandatory), pillowcase, headlamp/flashlight and personal items

    • Extra luggage storage: $5 per day of trek ,per piece of luggage

    • Any additional excursions or activities not included in the above itinearary

    • Visa if applicable and any pre-travel medical expenses such as immunizations or required Covid-19 testing 

    • Travelers insurance to cover medical expenses while traveling abroad (proof of insurance required)

    • Personal expenses not included in the itinerary such as additional accommodations, transportation, meals, souvenirs, etc.

  • All meals will be provided as noted in the itinerary. Please reach out to the trip host after booking if you have any food allergies/sensitivities. We always do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but cannot make any guarantees.

  • This trip requires a minimum number of women to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided along with pre-travel support. Please let us know if you do not have or use Facebook (see contact information below).

    All deposits are non-refundable at the time of booking, but may be transferable if done so within the timeframe outlined in the Terms of Service.

    Once a trip has been confirmed (no matter the booking or trip timeline), the deposit is both non-refundable and non-transferable. Please make sure you are purchasing adequate travel insurance at the time of booking to ensure you are covered in case you need to cancel.

  • Travel (and medical) insurance is required for anyone traveling on a Women Who Explore adventure. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. Your insurance policy should also include specific Covid-19 cover, including cancellation and curtailment cover if you or a close relative are diagnosed with Covid-19.
