This adventure is rated 3 out of 5 with the hikes ranging from moderate to challenging in difficulty. Weather is to be expected in Alaska which means sometimes the path or trail can be muddy or slippery. You should be comfortable hiking up to 10 miles with up to 3k feet of elevation gain/loss. This trip may also include an intro to new skill/activity that is guided by 3rd party like mountain biking, climbing, rafting, kayaking etc.). Activities are included, but optional if outside of your comfort zone
Journey into the wild heart of Alaska on this women’s-only adventure through Denali and Kenai Fjords National Parks. From hiking alpine ridges and exploring the Matanuska Glacier to sea kayaking among whales and watching massive glaciers calve into the sea, every day offers unforgettable moments of awe and connection. Guided by experienced female naturalists and surrounded by a supportive group of like-minded women, you’ll share laughter, discovery, and empowerment against the backdrop of Alaska’s most iconic landscapes. ITINERARY

Arrive to Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) by mid afternoon where you will be met by your female guide, trip host and fellow travelers.
Relax on a 2 hour scenic drive as you make your make to Denali National Park.
We’ll check in and have a little time to unwind. Before dinner, we’ll take an evening stroll along the Nanana River.
Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight with your fellow travelers as you share your excitement for the week ahead.

Enjoy an early breakfast before we make our way to Denail National Park.
Enjoy a moderate 9.5 mile hike along Triple Lakes with vistas of rivers, lakes, and the stunning mountains around you.
Upon arriving at the Denail Visitor Center, we’ll catch the bus to the Sled Dog center where we will get a live demonstration of this traditional mode of travel in Alaska.
Tonight visit a local brewery for a delicious group dinner.

Triple Lakes Hike: Moderate, 9.5 miles roundtrip, 2,000 feet elevation gain

Enjoy a warm cup of coffee and breakfast before packing up and checking out. Today we make our way south towards the town Sutton.
After about 1.5 hours, we will stop at Denali State Park to hike Curry Ridge Trail where the views of the Alaska Range and Denali are sure to leave you speechless.
After the hike, relax on our 2 hour drive to Sutton where we will check in to our accommodations for the evening.
Enjoy dinner with the group before snuggling in to bed for the evening.

Curry Ridge Hike: Moderate, 6.0 miles roundtrip, 1,,100 feet elevation gain

Enjoy breakfast and pack your bags before checking out.
Today’s adventure includes a hike on the Matanuska glacier. You’ll spend the morning exploring basal and blue ice learning about the history and glaciology of the Matanuska Valley.
Next we make our way to Seward where will check into a charming yurt village for the evening.
Unwind from your day’s adventure as your guides prepare a home cooked meal for the group to enjoy together.

Manatuska Glacier Trail: Easy , 3 miles round trip, 127 feet elevation gain.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast before your thrilling adventure today.
Hop on a water taxi to Aialik Bay. On the ride we will look for wildlife like harbor seals, mountain goats, sea otters and more.
After we arrive, we’ll get suited up for a chance to kayak near Kenai Fjords National Park’s largest and most actively calving glacier.
Enjoy the rest of the day to settle in, relax by the pool and enjoy the views.
Dinner is at the lodge at your leisure this evening.

Today’s adventure is tackling the Harding Icefield Trail in Kenai Fjords National Park. This trail passes through several climatic zones and rewards you with views overlooking the nearly 700 square mile Harding Icefield, the largest in the US!

Harding Icefield Trail: Challenging Hike: 8.6 miles roundtrip, 3,200 elevation gain.

A group transfer to the airport will be provided to Ted Stevens International Airport (ANC) in Anchorage. Flights should be planned for mid to late afternoon.

If you are traveling solo, you will be assigned a roommate upon request. Rooms are assigned on a first come basis.

This trip requires a minimum number of women to register in order for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum participant number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and a link to be added a private Facebook group just for trip guests. In this group further trip details will be provided along with pre-travel support. Please let us know if you do not have or use Facebook (see contact information below).

Once a trip has been confirmed (no matter the booking or trip timeline), the deposit is both non-refundable and non-transferable. Travel (and medical) insurance is required for anyone traveling on a Women Who Explore adventure. Your insurance should include adequate protection for overseas medical treatment, evacuation/repatriation, your baggage and equipment and the specific activities involved on your adventure. Your insurance policy should also include specific Covid-19 cover, including cancellation and curtailment cover if you or a close relative are diagnosed with Covid-19.
